KITCHEN NIGHTMARES IS BACK and on steroids. I'm in.

I was uncertain about another Gordon's He'll show, but if this is staged or not it's really good entertainment.

Season 2 / Episode 1 Synopsis: Gordon Ramsay wiping the cocky smirk off of lazy, smart azz. no nothing chef's is always worth the price of admission. Making them all eat the moldy rotten cheese sauce they had just served him......PRICELESS! - - - - - Gordon Ramsay has taken his week long "Kitchen Nightmares" concept and condensed in down into on 24 hour make it or call it a wrap boot camp. He pretty much HAD to, because he was getting burned out helping struggling restaurant's revamp, only to have them revert back to their prior idiocy, and still have to close the doors, except that their place was worth a lot more now when they had to shutter the doors and sell it. Now, he covertly scopes the miscreant establishments while in disguise, usually with a group, to prevent detection, while hidden cameras have been watching the behind the scenes goings on for weeks. When the inevitable dumpster fire occurs, he excuses himself, strips off the disguise, and returns with his usual "everybody drop your forks" aplomb, picks up everyone's checks, then, escorts the customers and staff out to his custom 18 wheeler "Hell on Wheels" mobile kitchen, replete with a "jumbotron" monitor, where he then proceeds to show EVERYONE just how lucky they are that they haven't gotten salmonella, ecol i, Montezuma's revenge , or some other food born pathogen. After inviting the customers to return, he informs the restaurant staff they need to cancel all plans because they ain't going home and are spending the next 24 hours turning their crap-show into a viable eatery that won't only NOT kill people, but might possibly make them want to return, thus insuring their future lively hoods. Surprisingly, there are often those who vehemently resist such silly notions. This episode, we had the usual finger pointing as to who was to blame for their failures. And in this case it was the absentee owner, who, had bought the business from his Grandfather, who had set him up for failure by telling him all he had to do was stay at home and count the $$ he would be raking in, when in fact Junior, though having an MBA, had never worked in a restaurant, nor had any clue as to what it took to run one. HIM I can forgive, he was simply ignorant and naive. Chef smirky on the other hand, while eager to point out everyone else's weaknesses, needed to be like Mike,... Jackson that is, and take a look at "the man in the mirror". It has been said that character is "doing the right thing, when NO ONE is looking". A person with good character doesn't need someone standing over them to make sure they do the job they were hired to do. One does it out of a sense of personal pride. They don't slack off because "everyone else is", but raise the bar for those around them. This ENTIRE crew had just called it a wrap, and were there for the paycheck. Reality came crashing down around them when Gordon very LOUDLY pointed out the YEARS of filth, rotten spoiled food, grease and grime encrusted appliances, clogged waste drains, flies, rat poop, and all the other restaurant sins that Chef smirky, as a self proclaimed Gordon Ramsay fan would KNOW needed to be corrected, and should be done regardless whether someone was standing over him daily to motivate him. You're a grown azz man, now do a grown azz mans job. The owner, refreshingly, had no argument with Gordon or his assessment of him, and just needed to be shown what was required of him to make the business work. Once that was done, he looked like he'd be able to handle things. Hopefully he'll keep it going. There were a few glitches on the re-opening, (dude, you can't fry chicken in 5 minutes, unless its a pressure fryer ala KFC) but all in all, it was a good revamp, and a good episode.

i enjoyed Kitchen Nightmares UK & US. i even watched Hotel Hell, which was decent. but this one just felt too scripted and planned, it just spat bland and generic drama. im burnt out on Ramsay, at this point.
